  • Have finally reached the Freak out portion of the show!

So I woke up last night at 2:30 in the morning and all these thoughts were running through my head. Fears of the unknown, financial fear (today was my last day of work and I'm not too sure when my next pay cheque will be rolling in), fears of loneliness and anything other fear that you could possibly dream of when you are moving across country all by yourself. Then old thoughts started running through my head. Things that I used to deal with. It's so crazy how once you open yourself up an inch to the evils of this world they take a mile like the fast and the furious! I remember just laying there tossing and turning and praying to God that he just take those fears and thoughts away. It was hard because for some strange reason I wanted to hold onto the fear but I reluctantly handed them over to God.

Man I don't understand how I used to make it through life without the security of God having my back and being their to simply give all my fears and doubts to. I woke up this morning feeling a little better, my faith had been restored by the light of day (funny how things always seem worse in the middle of the night). And within the first hour of my day God gave me 3 verses and an encouraging message:

    1) Mark 6:50...Jesus spoke to them and said, "Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid."

    2) Isaiah 41:10
So don't worry, because I am with you. Don't be afraid, because I am your God.
I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.

3)Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

    Live on the Edge
Fear or faith. Which is stronger in your life? Allowing fear to control your life is a prison. Allowing faith to control your life is an adventure.
God has plans for you that will totally stretch you out of your comfort zone - plans that may even make you feel super freaked out at times. If you allow fear to control your choices, playing it safe instead of trusting God, you'll miss out on amazing opportunities. But if you trust in a big God and decide to risk living on the edge with him, you'll accomplish the things you never dreamed possible.
Begin identifying things that rattle your world - failure, rejections, being alone, getting sick, being treated harshly, speaking infront of people, getting hurt physically or emotionally, trusting God with your future, missing out, or sharing your faith. Next, replace fear. Next, memorize Phil 4:13 and Isaiah 41:10. Repeat them each time you come to a challenge that seems too hard. Also, make a list of the times God helped you through tough spots and ask really committed believers to tell you about situations when God helped them through fearful events.
Faith isn't the absence of fear - it's the courage to overcome fear because you believe in a big God! So relax and believe that something you can't see yet will happen - an awesome faith adventure where there's no room for fear.

So how utterly amazing is that! Thank you God for answering my cries, time after time! Until the next major freak out... ahem... in like 2 hours :)
